XERISCAPE #11 a Texas Hill Country Yard Conversion

Go Back

These clients attended a xeriscape seminar I presented.  She is also a Master Gardener, so we collaborated in the design.  Because their yard slopes towards their home, drainage was a concern.  I proposed using boulders and matching moss rocks to terrace the slope, bring in deep organic soils, control the rain water run-off.  We installed all native and adapted plants, with a concern about all the deer in their neighborhood.  For a touch of fun, we built a dry creek bed at the bottom of the slope, in front of their front door.  What a fun project.
